Atlantic County reports more recoveries than new COVID-19 cases

  • News

Atlantic County had 22 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases Monday, with more than double that added to the recovered list.
There were 47 county residents cleared, bringing the total confirmed as recovered to 1,552 of the 3,035 cases.
The newly confirmed cases included seven people from Egg Harbor City, four from Egg Harbor Township and three each from Hamilton Township and Hammonton.
Atlantic City and Pleasantville each had two new cases confirmed, with one in Galloway Township.
The death of an 84-year-old Northfield man reported over the weekend is the county's only death in three days, bringing the total to 210.
County health officials encourage residents and visitors to follow the recommended federal and state guidelines to help reduce the virus' spread by wearing masks, maintaining social distancing and hygiene protocols such as frequent handwashing and disinfecting common-touch areas.
People are also reminded to isolate if they have symptoms of the virus or another respiratory illness.

Atlantic County will continue testing by appointment for symptomatic county residents with a doctor’s prescription from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday in Northfield behind the county’s public works yard at Route 9 and Dolphin Avenue.
Appointments can be made online at www.aclink.org.
