A Bridgeton man was wounded in a shooting at Atlantic City's Seawall early Sunday.
Police were called to the 800 block of New Hampshire Avenue at 12:34 a.m. for a man shot.
They then received updated information that the 21-year-old man was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The Violent Crimes Unit is investigating.
The Seawall has become the focus of complaints after nightly parties and fireworks in the area.
Mayor Marty Small went to the wall just after 9 p.m. June 23, to talk to those who enjoy socializing there.
"You all know what the seawall means to this community," he said. "But also, you have to understand that this is a residential community."
He said he didn't want to close the Seawall or have it shut down at 10 p.m., when the noise ordinance kicks in.
"You've got to help me help you," he told them.
"You are our mouthpiece," one man said.
Small said he wanted to have a volunteer committee made up of the people who are out there most. It was not clear if that process had started.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Violent Crimes Unit at 609-347-5766 or anonymously test tip411 (847411) beginning the text with ACPD.
