An Ocean City Boardwalk pizza landmark will remain closed until Saturday, after three employees tested positive for the coronavirus last week.
Manco & Manco announced it would close Tuesday to allow for the three Boardwalk locations to be professionally sanitized by BioBlast Inc.
But after concerns from customers, the company decided to take additional precautions, including providing mandatory testing for all employees.
Only employees who test negative will be allowed to return to work. That will include the Somers Point location, even though no employees there were affected.
In the original announcement, the company noted that the Cape May County Board of Health did not require them to close, but the company made the choice to do so anyway.
Manco & Manco also announced additional safety measures, including UV-C light technology that will be used "to frequently sanitize high-touch areas such as credit card terminals and our touchscreen tablets and computers."
Safety seals will now be applied not only to delivery pies, but also for pick-up and curbside
Only whole pizzas will be available until further notice, with slices temporarily suspended to limit employee food contact.
