Police looking for who damaged Lake Lenape dam

  • News

Hamilton Township police are looking for help to find out who damaged the dam at Lake Lenape.
It happened some time between Wednesday afternoon July 8 and the morning of July 9, police said Wednesday.
"In addition to the danger it poses to the individual or individuals responsible, this is a critical infrastructure component that controls the water flow to prevent flooding in certain areas of the township of Hamilton, as well as maintain lake levels," police said. "Interfering with these mechanisms could compromise the integrity of the dam, and put many residents and their property at risk."
Police will increase their presence in the area, and anyone inside the secured space will be prosecuted.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 609-625-2700.
