State Police are looking for help investigating the shooting of a teen found wounded inside a car on the Atlantic City Expressway.
Police were called to milepost 7.2 west in Egg Harbor Township just after 4 a.m. Sunday for the report of a shooting.
They found a 13-year-old boy conscious and alert with three gunshot wounds inside a white Toyota Tundra pickup truck.
State Police would not say who else was in the truck with the teen.
The victim, whose name was not released due to his age, was treated at the scene and then taken to the hospital.
He was last listed in critical but stable condition.
Investigators determined that seven shots were fired from an unidentified passing vehicle as both vehicles heading west.
It is believed that the vehicle then exited the expressway at Exit 7S onto the Garden State Parkway.
Anyone with information is asked to call the New Jersey State Police Atlantic City Expressway Station at 609-965-7200. Anonymous tips are welcome.
