Residents can start going to the movies again... at least Friday night.
Tilton Square Theatre in Northfield has its first show times in almost three months beginning at 5 p.m. Friday.
“People want to get to the movies,” managing partner Brett DeNafo told WIBG Radio. While he did not address the governor's executive order that has not yet lifted on entertainment, he said they would be following CDC guidelines."We're basically going to do what Walmart's doing, what Lowe's is doing, what Wawa's doing," he said. "Why can those stores do it but we can't?" They are waiting to see how the Tilton opening goes before opening Harbor Square.
The theater and will be only at 30 percent capacity.
There is a special filter system in the air conditioning system and sanitizing stations throughout the theater, DeNafo said.
They will also more than double the time between movies from 20 minutes to about 50 minutes, to allow for cleaning.Since no new movies are coming out until next month, the theater will be showing older movies, including classics like "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."All movies are $6.
