A Pleasantville who sexually assaulted a girl for nearly two years was sentenced to a decade in prison last week.
Javier Cruz-Rojas, 45, began assaulting the victim when she was 8 years old, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said.
An investigation found that the girl was assaulted on multiple occasions from Feb. 5, 2016, to Feb. 3, 2018.Cruz-Rojas was sentenced Friday on second-degree charges of sexual assault and endangering by sexual conduct.
He must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence, or 8½ years, under the No Early Release Act.
Cruz-Rojas also must register as a Megan's Law offender and will have parole supervision for life.
It does not appear anything about this arrest was previously released to the media.
