Five people were arrested and a handgun recovered inside a car Saturday night in Atlantic City.
Officer Christian Ivanov saw the driver speed away from where he was parked in the 1700 block of Atlantic Avenue, when he stopped the car at 5:43 p.m., Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
A loaded handgun was found inside, and the three men and two women were arrested, Fair said.
Darel Bellamy, 26, of Alexandria, Va.; Tarryl Bellamy, 39, of Greenboro, N.C.; Markeeta Johnson, 24, of Lorton, Va., and Wayne Robertson, 40, and Tawanna Bellamy, 37, of Washington D.C., were charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a high capacity magazine, and possession of CDS paraphernalia.
All but Johnson were taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. She was released on a summons.
