The second fire in 10 days at a boarded-up Atlantic City building has been deemed suspicious, the fire chief said.
Firefighters were hampered fighting the flames early Sunday morning, after the roof of the four-story building on North Florida Avenue collapsed, Fire Chief Scott Evans said.
There were no injuries, he said.
There was heavy fire upon arrival before 2:30 a.m. at the four-story building at 7 N. Florida Ave..
The fire was under control around 4:30 a.m., but firefighters remained on scene several hours.
It was the second fire there in less than 10 days.
The cause of the first fire, which happened just after midnight March 5, was undetermined, Evans said. The fire investigator is working to determine the cause of the second fire.
At about 8:40 a.m., firefighters were called to another fire at the Atlantic Club. No information was immediately available about that blaze.
