Two Vineland hospital workers have tested positive for COVID-19, Inspira announced Tuesday.The two patients came to the emergency department of Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill, Gloucester County, on Sunday. Both have tested positive for the novel strain of coronavirus, the Department of Health confirmed Tuesday, Inspira announced.The first patient works in the Radiation Oncology Department at Inspira Medical Center Vineland.That patient was symptomatic for COVID-19 and identified as high risk. Patients and staff who had direct contact with the symptomatic patient have been notified. They also have been offered testing as well as mental health counseling.The department is temporarily closed, and patient appointments will be rescheduled.The second patient was not symptomatic and not considered high risk, so was sent home to self-quarantine, in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, Inspira said.That patient works in the Surgical Services Departments at Inspira Medical Centers Elmer, Mullica Hill and Vineland. Inspira is reaching out to patients and staff who had direct contact with the asymptomatic patient.All patients and staff are being asked to self-quarantine. They too are being offered testing and mental health counseling, and guidance on when to contact a health care provider.Inspira has adopted a “no visitation” policy with very limited exceptions.
