Atlantic City's special election to change the form of government has been moved as part of coronavirus precautions.The March election will now be held May 12, Gov. Phil Murphy said.All voting will be vote by mail. "Residents can't make a choice between personal well-being and moving democracy forward," Secretary of State Tahesha Way said. Four upcoming elections throughout the state are impacted, including the special vote that could change Atlantic City to a city manager form of government. It was originally scheduled for March 31. All registered voters will receive a mail-in ballot at their homes, Way said. The state also will be accepting signatures for candidate petitions virtually at
elections.nj.gov.Petitions will be received by all forms, including email, fax, regular mail and in-person delivery, Way said.
