  • Covid 19

A 12-year-old girl is the latest confirmed case of the coronavirus in Cape May County, officials announced Saturday. The girl is recovering at home, health officials said.

There are now 10 cases, including three in Middle Township.

The remaining cases in the county are two in Cape May, and one each in Avalon, Upper and Lower townships, Ocean City and Sea Isle City.

"There is currently no treatment for COVID-19, which is why social distancing is so important," said county Health Officer Kevin Thomas. "We urge our residents to continue social distancing and taking all standard precautions such as washing your hands and frequently cleaning touched surfaces."

Only those with symptoms that include a fever of 100.4 or higher, shortness of breath and coughing are being tested.
