Three teens arrested in man's shooting

A teen with a gun in a stolen car led to the arrest of three juveniles wanted in an Atlantic City shooting that wounded a man earlier this month, police said.Officers Kevin Perez and Christian Ivanov responded to the 500 block of North Tennessee Avenue just before noon Friday for a report of a male waving a handgun, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.While responding, the officers saw a car pass by with one of three teens wanted in the March 15 shooting that wounded a 34-year-old city man.The 17-year-old city resident also fit the description of the suspect seen waving the gun, Fair said.The officers tried to stop the car, but the driver took off, according to the report.The officers chased the car to the 1300 block of Magellan Avenue, where the driver got out and ran, Fair said.The teen was seen throwing a fanny pack, which had a loaded handgun, according to the report.Ivanov caught the teen and arrested him, Fair said.The car had been reported stolen.

The car's passenger, 22-year-old Jermaine Daniels, was charged with joyriding and released on a summons.

As a crowd of people began to form in the area, Officers Valmir Loga and Jeffrey Hannon saw a second wanted juvenile, Fair said. Joined by Sgt. James Herbert, the officers approached the male who ran inside an apartment building.

Inside the residence, he tried to run and hide, Fair said. The officers were able to take him into custody after a struggle that included him spitting on the officers.Once inside the patrol car, the juvenile began to kick the inside the of the vehicle, Fair said. He was also found in possession of a small amount of marijuana.

About four hours later, Officer Aaron Jones saw the third wanted teen at Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard and Adriatic Avenue, Fair said. The 15-year-old city boy was taken into custody without incident, according to the report. He was found in possession of a small amount of marijuana.The 17-year-old arrested in the stolen car was charged with two counts each of unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, aggravated assault, conspiracy, eluding, obstruction of justice and receiving stolen property.

The 17-year-old who allegedly spit on officers was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, conspiracy, aggravated assault on a police officer, throwing bodily fluids on a police officer, resisting arrest, obstruction of justice and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

The 15-year-old was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, conspiracy and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

All three juveniles were remanded to the Harborfields Juvenile Detention Center.Their names are not being released due to their ages.

Man wounded in Atlantic City shooting

A man was injured in a shooting late Sunday night. Officers heard gunfire in the area of South Carolina and Baltic avenues, while on patrol at 11:49 p.m., Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
