Two residents of Atlantic County long-term care facilities are the latest to die from complications of COVID-19.The 89-year-old Egg Harbor Township man and 85-year-old Hamilton Township woman both had pre-existing health conditions, officials said Sunday.The county also announced 20 new positives among seven men, ages 26 to 63 and 13 women, ages 20 to 27.
The newly confirmed cases included four in Egg Harbor Township residents, three each in Atlantic City and Galloway Township, two in Northfield and one each in Buena Borough, Egg Harbor City, Folsom, Hammonton, Margate, Mullica Township, Somers Point and Ventnor.
These new cases bring the countywide totals to 1,515 confirmed with 351 residents now cleared as recovered and 74 deaths.
Atlantic County will continue next Tuesday and Thursday, by appointment, for symptomatic county residents with a doctor’s prescription, proof of residency and appointment confirmation.
Atlantic County has tested 1,053 residents to date with 25.9 percent confirmed as positive. The statewide positivity rate is around 28 percent, the governor said Friday.
Testing is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Residents may make an appointment for testing online at www.aclink.org. In addition to the doctor’s prescription, residents must also provide proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or utility bill, as well as the appointment confirmation.
As always, those who are unable to keep their appointments are asked to cancel so that others will have an opportunity to be tested.
