Three elderly Atlantic County residents of long-term care facilities are the latest to die from complications of COVID-19, county health officials said Monday. All three women had pre-existing health conditions that put them at higher risk. They included a 91- and a 93-year-old from Pleasantville, and a 97-year-old from Northfield.
There were also 15 more county residents who have now tested positive for the coronavirus.The are six men, ages 44 to 65 and nine women, ages 30 to 86.Eight Atlantic City residents were among the newly confirmed cases, along with three residents from Hammonton, two from Buena Vista Township and one each from Folsom and Northfield.
These cases bring the countywide totals to 1,530 with 77 deaths, and 351 cleared as recovered.
Atlantic County will continue next Tuesday and Thursday, by appointment, for symptomatic county residents with a doctor’s prescription, proof of residency and appointment confirmation.
Atlantic County has tested 1,053 residents to date with 25.9 percent confirmed as positive. The statewide positivity rate is around 28 percent, the governor said Friday.
Testing is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Residents may make an appointment for testing online at www.aclink.org. In addition to the doctor’s prescription, residents must also provide proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or utility bill, as well as the appointment confirmation.
As always, those who are unable to keep their appointments are asked to cancel so that others will have an opportunity to be tested.
