A Philadelphia man has been arrested in the May 1 killing of a Pleasantville man.
Teddy Smith, 39, was arrested Friday afternoon at a parole office in Philadelphia, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner announced Monday.
“Getting the information necessary to file charges for homicide in this matter involved every aspect of cooperation from the community and interstate law enforcement agencies," Tyner said.
Nathan Adcock, 25, was found with multiple gunshot wounds by police responding to a ShotSpotter alert in the 100 block of North First Street at 6:21 p.m. May 1.
He was pronounced dead at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus.
The investigation led by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit included the Pleasantville Police Department, Philadelphia Parole and the Philadelphia Fugitive Homicide Unit.
"I am happy that people cared enough to stand up and trust law enforcement with getting justice for this family and sending a message that they would not tolerate random violence in their community," Tyner said. "This case demonstrates that when all partners invested in having a safe community work together, justice will prevail.”
Smith is charged with murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.
Smith is currently being held in the Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility pending extradition to Atlantic County.
