Atlantic County has issued a Code Blue alert for Wednesday into Thursday.
The alert will run from 4 a.m. Wednesday through 7 a.m. Thursday.
A Code Blue Alert is required to be issued within 24 to 48 hours of weather conditions that will reach 32 degrees or lower with or without precipitation or wind chill of zero degrees or less for two or more hours.
The alert is intended to assist municipalities in protecting citizens who may be living outdoors or in poorly insulated settings and are at risk for weather-related exposure and possible death.
Any resident who experiences a life-threatening emergency should call 911. Emergencies now considered life-threatening may be reported to your local municipal office of emergency management.
