Atlantic City police arrest 19 and recover drugs, gun over two days

  • News

Atlantic City police arrested 19 people and seized a gun and multitude of drugs in a two-day operation targeting issues on Pacific Avenue.
All but one of the arrests involved drugs, resulting in more than 40 grams of cocaine, 266 bags of heroin, 9.6 grams of unpackaged heroin and 27 grams of marijuana, according to the report.
Courtney Glose, who previously pleaded guilty in prostituting a minor, was charged with engaging in prostitution.
Four people were charged with possession of the defaced firearm: Brianna Howard, 24, of Absecon; Altyriek Warren, 31, of Galloway Township, and Atlantic City residents Malikah McLaughlin, 25, and Jacqueline Ryan, 31.
McLaughlin is currently on probation from a 2018 case involving a paintball gun, records show.
Ryan was released from prison in December after serving time for hindering apprehension, while Warren was arrested in February, after he was allegedly seen making separate drug sales to two city women in the 2600 block of Pacific Avenue.
The arrests also included Gordon Stokelin, 52, of Atlantic City, who was paroled from prison last Oct. 23 after serving time on robbery charges. He is now headed back to state custody, records show.

Christopher Britton, 49, of Atlantic City, was charged with drug possession and intent to distribute. He is the only other person arrested who was jailed on the charges, which included a contempt of court warrant.
A dozen others were charged with drug-related offenses and released on summonses, including Ishmael Bailey, 41, of Atlantic City, who was released from prison in December in a robbery case.
The others arrested and released on summonses were: Atlantic City residents Sean Ford, 37; Joseph Hayes, 24; Elicia Hughes, 28; Abu Iasheed, 26; Jamaal Johnson, 20, and Javon Ross, 30.
The remaining arrests were David Macey, 24, of Philadelphia, and Florida residents Jude Francois, 27, of Fort Lauderdale; Ronald Lee Gaskin, 27, of Rivera Beach; Omari George, 32, of Boynton Beach, and Malcom Shepard, 21, of Lantana.

Anyone with information about the distribution of narcotics is asked to call Atlantic City police at 609-347-5858. Information may also be texted anonymously to tip411 (847411), beginning the text with ACPD.
