A Toms River woman is accused of fatally stabbing her former boyfriend during an altercation early Saturday morning.
Samantha Massimino, 33, is charged with aggravated manslaughter.
She allegedly stabbed Reinaldo Feliciano Jr. in the leg during a physical altercation, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer and Toms River Township Police Chief Mitch Little said.
Police were called to the home at about 4 a.m.
Feliciano, 35, was taken to Community Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at about 4:45 a.m.
Massimo was taken into custody, and is currently in the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.
“I commend all the law enforcement officers involved in this tragic case for their dedicated professionalism, and for swiftly identifying Ms. Massimino as the individual responsible for Mr. Feliciano’s death and bringing her into custody,” Billhimer said.
Massimino previously was sentence to a year probation after violating a restraining order in 2016, court records show.
It was unclear if that involved Feliciano.
