A Pleasantville woman charged in a stabbing was ordered held pending trial Monday.
Summer Brennan, 26, was arrested last Monday after the victim came to the Pleasantville Police Station with a slash on her forehead.
Channel Amado, 31, told police that Brennan had attacked her during a physical altercation at the Newtowne Square Apartments in the 700 block of West Black Horse Pike, police said.
Brennan lives in the apartment complex and has had a history with Amado, according to information presented during the detention hearing Monday.
The defense presented screenshots of text messages between Brennan and Amado, along with others between the victim and Brennan's boyfriend, defense attorney Stephen Funk told the judge.
"There were threats back and forth between all parties involved," Funk noted.
He said if they were trying the case now, he would ask that both self-defense and mutual fight be part of the charges.
Superior Court Judge Bernard DeLury ordered Brennan held, calling "a palpable danger to the victim."
The judge said the charges indicate "a particularly violent episode of street-level violence," which he called "unnecessarily bloody and violent."
She is charged with aggravated assault with a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Brennan is additionally charged with theft, for allegedly taking the victim's cell phone.
She will remain in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
