A Galloway Township man was arrested with 400 bags of heroin in Atlantic City on Saturday.
Officers Auttika Taing and Sandra Lino-Melo were in the first block of South Florida Avenue in response to complaints about drug distribution.
The officers saw Adam Jones Jr loitering in a parking lot. continually engaging with people as they walked down the street, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
As the officers watched, they saw Jones conduct a drug transaction with an unknown man, according to the report.
As the officers approached Jones after the other man walked off, Jones put the fanny pack he was holding in his car, Fair said.
The officers got the pack, and found 400 bags of heroin and more than 12 grams a marijuana, according to the report.
Jones, 21, was arrested without incident.
He is charged with two counts each of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute, possession with intent to distribute within a school zone, along with single counts of possession of narcotic paraphernalia and loitering with the purpose to distribute narcotics.
Jones was released on a summons with a future court date.
