An Atlantic City man is charged with murder in the shooting of a woman Saturday.
Maximo Santiago, 69, killed Marketa Thorpe in what Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner called "a neighborhood dispute."
Police were called to the 1500 block of Belfield Avenue where Santiago lives at 11:24 a.m. Saturday.
They found Thorpe, 32, wounded.
Santiago was apprehended a short time later by Atlantic City Police Officer Pete Calabrese a short time later.
Thorpe, who was known to friends as Gina, was pronounced dead at the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus.
She leaves behind a daughter.
An autopsy found Thorpe died of a gunshot wound to the torso.
Santiago is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing.
