  • News

A standoff between a barricaded man and State Police ended safely after more than five hours Saturday night in Weymouth Township.
Police were called to the home on Jersey Avenue in the township's Dorothy section at 6:38 p.m., Trooper Alejandro Goez said.
There were no hostages, according to the report.
Firefighters helped block the area.
A hostage negotiator was able to get the man to surrender just after midnight.
He was then taken to the hospital for evaluation.
The man's name is not being released since there are no charges at this time.
