Medical emergency caused Galloway crash that impacted power

  • News

An Ocean County man had a medical emergency while driving, causing him to crash in Galloway Township, police said.
Robert Flesche, 57, of Little Egg Harbor Township, was traveling north on Pomona Road on Thursday, when his Jeep left the road, and struck a utility pole on the west side of the road, Lt. Christopher McGinty said.
The impact severed the pole and caused various service wires to block the roadway, according to the report.
Power and other utilities were affected, along with NJ Transit rail operations relating to the nearby tracks.
Flesche was treated on scene by EMS personnel for minor injuries and released.
