A passenger was killed when a three-wheeled vehicle's driver lost control and struck a utility pole Monday in Egg Harbor Township.
Gary Brenner,64, of the township, was driving a 2017 Polaris Slingshot north on Ocean Heights near Alder Avenue just before 2 p.m., when he lost control after driving through an area of standing water, Lt. Michael Finnerty said.
The motor vehicle then continued rotating out of control across the oncoming lane of travel and struck a utility pole, according to the report.
Adam Brenner, the driver's 35-year-old son, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The township Ambulance Squad and members of the Scullville Fire Department assisted at the scene.
Officers Nick Poletis, Ben Kollman, Robert Moran and James Ludwig, along with Sgt. Larry Graham are investigating.
