Three people were arrested after an Atlantic City drug investigation led to the recovery of a loaded handgun.
Police searched a home in the first block of South Florida Avenue on Thursday, as well as a motel room in the 3000 block of Pacific Avenue, Lt. Kevin Fair said Monday.
Detectives also recovered heroin and packaging materials used to distribute narcotics, according to the report.
The target of the investigation, 36-year-old Rashid Sims of Galloway Township, was arrested along with Kiersten Saporito and Treyvon Chisum.
Sims and Saporito, 26, of Barnegat, were charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of hallow-point ammunition.
Chisum, 22, of Atlantic City, was charged possession of a controlled dangerous substance and contempt of court.
Sims was additionally charged with contempt of court and being a certain person not to possess a weapon for prior convictions, which include a guilty plea to receiving stolen property in 2012.
All three were taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Saporito has since been released.
