A Little Egg Harbor Township man was sentenced to 14 years in prison in a 2018 fatal stabbing.
Kendrick Coley, 29, previously pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter in the death of Richard Pone.
Police were called to a home in Little Egg at about 8:15 p.m. May 16, 2018, for the report of a man with a knife.
Officers found Coley in the garage, and Pone in an upstairs bedroom with multiple stab wounds, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office previously released.
Pone, 28, was pronounced dead at 8:42 p.m.
An investigation found that the two men argued after Pone confronted Coley about an earlier assault against a woman in the home.
During the fight, Coley grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed Pone in the upstairs bedroom, according to the original charges.
He must serve at least 85 percent of the sentence.
