Holy Spirit High School has returned to remote learning for the week after someone at the school tested positive for COVID.
The new schedule started Tuesday, Principal Thomas Farren Sr. posted in an online letter.
All sports practices, competitions and other extracurricular activities are also suspended through at least Friday. A decision about weekend games and activities will be made by early Friday afternoon, he said.
Any students, teachers or other members of the school community believed to be close contacts of the person who tested positive will be contacted separately, Farren wrote.
“They will be advised to self-quarantine for a number of days, according to health department and CDC guidelines,” he wrote. “If you are not contacted with additional information, you and/or your child(ren) are not required or advised to do anything additional beyond the health and safety measures you are already taking.”
The Absecon school already was scheduled to be closed Wednesday for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
Bio Blasting has continued at the school under last year’s protocols, Farren wrote. It is now undergoing a deep cleaning that will continue through the week.
