An Atlantic City man recently released from prison was arrested Tuesday with a loaded handgun, police said.
Daniele Tuitt, 23, was released from prison March 1, after serving nearly three years on a weapon charge, records show.
At that time, he had a black Ruger P95 handgun, according to court records.
Now, police say he had a handgun with a large-capacity magazine containing hollow-point ammunition, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
Detective Albert Valles was conducting surveillance at 4:46 p.m. Tuesday when he saw Tuitt crossing Route 30 near North Carolina Avenue.
As Tuitt walked, the detective saw him remove a handgun from his waistband and put it back, according to the report.
Tuitt was arrested without incident, Fair said.
The handgun was seized.
Tuitt is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow-point ammunition, possession of a large-capacity magazine, and certain person not to possess a weapon.
He is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility awaiting a detention hearing.
