An Atlantic City teen was arrested after allegedly burglarized a store, and then fled in front of a police officer.
Officer Ivaylo Penchev was patrolling the 3100 block of the Boardwalk just before 11 p.m. Saturday, when he heard a burglar alarm go off nearby, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
The officer then saw Matthew Doughty run from the store across the Boardwalk, according to the report.
Penchev chased Doughty and arrested him on the beach with help from Officer Sandra Lino-Melo, Fair said.
Property Doughty allegedly stole was recovered.
Multiple glass doors were damaged to gain access to other adjacent businesses, Fair said.
Doughty, 18, is charged with burglary and criminal mischief. He was released on a summons.
