An Atlantic City teen was arrested for armed robbery after returning to the scene of the crime Saturday, police said.
Officers were called to Sovereign and Atlantic avenues at 9:40 a.m. by a 35-year-old woman who said she was robbed at gunpoint and her purse stolen, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
The purse was later found with only the money missing, according to the report.
A detailed description of the suspect was given to officers.
Just after 7 p.m., Officers Ivaylo Penchev and Curtis Massey were patrolling the same area when they observed a teen matching the suspect’s description.
The 17-year-old was taken into custody without incident, Fair said.
He is charged with robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon and aggravated assault.
The teen, whose name was not released due to his age, was remanded to the Harborfields Juvenile Detention Center.
