A Brigantine man was indicted for murder in a deadly attack on his wife last year, acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill said Wednesday.
Robert Declementi, 37, is accused of killing 30-year-old Rachel Declementi inside the couple's Girard Avenue home.
Police received a 911 call at 4:27 a.m. Aug. 22, and arrived at the home to find Rachel Declementi dead.
A blood-covered Robert Declementi told responding officers that his wife had come home that night and told him she cheated on his with someone from Applebee’s, the affidavit states.
The killing appeared to have happened in a back room, with blood showing the victim was likely dragged through the kitchen and into the front of the house, according to the affidavit.
A hammer was found in the kitchen and paper towels and a Swiffer mop indicated someone tried to clean up.
Robert Declementi has remained in the Atlantic County Justice Facility since the killing.
