Atlantic City man indicted in drug deaths of two British men

  • News

An Atlantic City man accused of selling the drugs that killed two British men was indicted this week on 21 counts, including two counts of strict liability homicide.

Tyrell Gist, 24, was arrested by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit after an investigation into the deaths of Scott Jordan, 43, and Simon Gamble, 40, both of the Unite Kingdom, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office previously announced.

Prosecutor’s Office Detective Kayla Dodge responded to Room 3241 at Bally’s Atlantic City on March 8, 2020, for two drug-related deaths, according to the report.

Surveillance from the casino helped identify Gist.

Toxicology reports along with drugs seized from the room helped lead to Gist.

In addition to the strict liability charges, Gist was indicted on six counts of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, five counts each of distribution within 500 feet of a public park and possession, two counts of money laundering and one count of distribution within a school zone, acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill said.

Gist remains in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
