An Atlantic City man is charged in the drug-related deaths of two men from the United Kingdom last year, the prosecutor said Thursday.
Tyrell Gist, 24, was arrested by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit after an investigation into the deaths of Scott Jordan, 43, and Simon Gamble, 40, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said.
Prosecutor's Office Detective Kayla Dodge responded to Room 3241 at Bally's Atlantic City on March 8, 2020, for two drug-related deaths, according to the report.
Surveillance from the casino helped identify Gist.
Toxicology reports along with drugs seized from the room helped lead to Gist, Tyner said.
Tyner lauded Dodge and Assistant Prosecutor Allison Eiselen for their work in the case.
"The families of the victims in this matter deserved answers and, through our efforts, we are able to provide them with some measure of closure," Tyner said.
Gist was arrested in a knifepoint robbery in Galloway Township in 2018. That included a standoff involving police and his co-defendant that lasted an hour but ended peacefully, Galloway Township police said at the time.
It was not clear where that case stands.
