A Gloucester County man was arrested with a loaded gun after he allegedly assaulted a juvenile in Ventnor.
A juvenile flagged down Officer Lindsay Sochocky 9:15 p.m. Thursday, saying the man also threatened him, and then fled on a bicycle, Capt. Joe Fussner said.
The boy said he also believed the man had a weapon, according to the report.
David Shields Jr., 41, of West Deptford, was found in the 100 block of North Dorset Avenue, Fussner said.
At first, he did not comply with officers' commands, and there was a brief struggle before he was taken into custody, according to the report.
Shields was found with a loaded .45-caliber Colt handgun, Fussner said.
He is charged with possession of a weapon, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and simple assault.
Shields is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility awaiting a detention hearing.
