A Millville man stabbed his father to death in a fit of anger, a jury found Friday.
Michael Tedesco, 41, was convicted of passion provocation manslaughter in the April 9, 2019, killing of his father, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said.
Passion provocation is a lesser charge than murder. Tedesco faces 21½ years in prison when he is sentenced Dec. 16.
Gary Tedesco, 66, was stabbed nine times during the altercation inside his Carlton Avenue home.
When police arrived, they found the elder Tedesco dead. His wife, Stella, had been knocked to the ground during the crime.
Michael Tedesco, who fled the scene in his father’s vehicle, was arrested later that evening at a home on West Broad Street in Millville.
A jury also convicted him of theft, tampering with evidence, and related weapons offenses after a 2½ week trial, Webb-McRae said.
