An Atlantic City man wanted in a fatal shooting has been captured.
Umar Abdullah, 45, is charged with murder and weapons offenses in the Oct. 10 shooting of Mark Wright, in the first block of South Georgia Avenue, acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill announced last week.
Abdullah, who also goes by Munchie and O, has been wanted since then.
He was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshall’s Task Force on Monday morning in Egg Harbor City, Shill said.
Wright, 35, was found fatally shot just after 4 a.m. Oct. 10.
Abdullah also goes by the names James Coger III and James Collins.
Under the name Collins, he has several prior convictions, including a 2014 gun and drugs case. He was sentenced to five years in prison in 2016, and had to serve at least 3½ years before parole eligibility, according to court records.
He is now in the Atlantic County Justice Facility awaiting a detention hearing.
