A Hammonton teen was killed and his father wounded in a shooting Thursday night in the parking lot of a Burlington Township Walmart.
It was not a random shooting, according to the preliminary investigation.
Police were called to the store at about 10:15 p.m., and found Dione Williams Sr., 44, and his 17-year-old son, Albert Williams, suffering from gunshot wounds, according to Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Burlington Township acting Public Safety Director James Sullivan.
They were taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where Albert Williams was pronounced dead.
the elder Williams was treated and released.
No arrests have been made.
The investigation is being conducted by detectives from the Burlington Township Police Department and Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office. The lead investigators are Prosecutor’s Office Detective Sean Tait and Burlington Township Detective Steven Cosmo.
