A Galloway Township man was arrested in Atlantic City with a stolen handgun in his pocket, police said.
Officers were called to the first block of South Florida Avenue just after 7 a.m. Sunday for the report of a man with a gun, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
Personnel in the city’s Surveillance Center were able to direct the officers to a man matching the description the caller gave.
A loaded handgun was found in Dupree Frederick Jr.’s pocket, according to the report. The gun was reported stolen from Virginia Beach, Va.
Police also found 250 bags of heroin and five grams of cocaine.
He is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon while committing a drug offense, possession of hollow-point ammunition, receiving stolen property, and two counts each of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute and possession with intent to distribute within a school zone.
Frederick is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing.
