A family dog was rescued during a fire that burned an Egg Harbor Township home Saturday.
Firefighters from the township's Cardiff and Bargaintown volunteer fire companies were met with heavy fire when they responded to the 4000 block of Ivins Avenue in the Cardiff section, according Bargaintown's Facebook page.
A second alarm was requested.
Firefighters took an aggressive approach to extinguish the fire, searching the residence for anyone inside.
At that time, they found the dog unconscious.
The Northfield Volunteer Fire Company then transported the dog to a local animal hospital, where he was in stable condition.
No other injuries were reported.
