A Cumberland County man was sentenced to 24 months in federal prison after admitting he had other people buy him firearms.
Darick Nollett, 32, is not legally allowed to own guns due to a 2015 conviction for endangering-sexual conduct with a child by a non-caretaker, records show.
He was sentenced to three years’ probation for that prior offense, which was originally charged as sexual assault of a victim who is 13 to 15 years old and at least four years younger than the perpetrator, according to court records.
More than 30 firearms were recovered from his property during a court-authorized search in May 2020, along with ammunition and firearm accessories.
In 2018 and 2019, unnamed individuals lied on firearms applications that they were the buyer/transferee of the firearm when Nollett was really the buyer, according to U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger.
He also ordered "fuel filters" from China in 2020, with plans to modify and use them as firearms silencers, according to the charges.
Nollett also will have to serve three years of supervised release when he gets out of prison.
He also must forfeit the firearms, ammunition and accessories recovered from his property.
