  • News

A Middle Township man is jailed after he was found with a loaded revolver at the bus terminal Monday in Wildwood.

Officers were called to the New Jersey Transit Center at 4500 Washington Ave. at about 5:30 a.m. after a worker reported suspicious activity on one of the buses, police said.

Devante Harris, 30, was patted down for officer safety, and an Amadeo Rossi .38-caliber revolver was found on him, according to the report.

The gun was loaded with hollow-point ammunition, and the hammer of the pistol was pulled back in a position to be in single-action firing mode, police said.

He was charged with various weapons offenses, including possession by a certain person not to possess a firearm, due to his criminal history.

Harris also was charged with possession methamphetamine, possession of oxycodone, possession with intent to distribute, possession with intent within a school zone and possession with intent within 500 feet of public property.

He is in the Cape May County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing.

A mugshot could not be immediately obtained.
