A Mays Landing man pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Christian Navarette, 39, had more than 80 videos showing him sexually assaulting the victim, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
He admitted Thursday that he assaulted the victim several times in his Hamilton Township home from July 18, 2017, to Dec. 15, 2019. Navarette also admitted to filming the victim while committing the assaults.
Navarette faces 25 years in prison under the plea agreement, with 85 percent of parole ineligibility under the No Early Release Act. He would also be subject to Megan’s Law after his release.
Hamilton Township police assisted by the Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit went to Navarette’s home Dec. 19, 2019, after the Division of Child Protection and Permanency notified them about the sexual assault of a juvenile, according to the Prosecutor’s Office.
An investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office High Technology Crimes Investigation Unit a forensic analysis of his cell phone found dozens of videos.
Chief Assistant Prosecutor Erika Halayko prosecuted the case.
Navarette will be sentenced before Judge Donna Taylor after he undergoes an evaluation at the Avenel Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center.
