A Galloway Township man is wanted after a gun was found in his vehicle during an Atlantic City drug investigation.
Sgt. Christopher LoDico was conducting a surveillance operation just after 8 p.m. Wednesday in the 1700 block of Atlantic Avenue when he saw two males make what appeared to be a drug deal inside a store, Sgt. Paul Aristizabal said.
Halim Fisher and a 16-year-old boy were stopped as they left the store, according to the report.
Officers Ivaylo Ivanov and Dion Liu stopped the juvenile who was found with an Oxycodone pill and two grams of suspected crack cocaine, according to the report.
Fisher was stopped by Officers Robert Reynolds and Matthew Crosby and found with a digital scale covered with a white powdery substance.
It was not the first time the group of officers found Fisher allegedly engaging in drug deals in that area.
He was one of five people arrested in the same area last month for alleged drug deals. He was also found with a digital scale that time. He and the four others were released on a summonses.
Fisher was again released on a summons after Wednesday’s arrest on charges that included employing a juvenile during a drug scheme.
But this time, Fisher also had a vehicle key, which led to a car parked nearby, Aristizabal said.
K-9 Officer Jesse Oliver-Logan responded to the area and his partner, Gee, gave a positive indication of drugs in the vehicle, according to the report.
The vehicle was towed and a warrant obtained.
A search of the vehicle the next day led to the recovery of a handgun fitted with a high-capacity magazine that contained hollow-point bullets, Aristizabal said.
Materials commonly used to package drugs for street sale were also recovered from the vehicle.
Fisher is now wanted on charges of possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of a weapon while committing a drug offense, possession of a high-capacity magazine, possession of hollow-point ammunition and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Anyone with information about Fisher is asked to call police at (609) 347-5858 or anonymously text to tip411 (847411), beginning the text with ACPD.
