A Pleasantville man was arrested Friday after a three-month investigation into the sexual assault of a child.
Fabian Viruel Cruz faces two counts each of aggravated sexual assault, luring and endangering the welfare of a child in the case, Capt. Stacey Shlachter said.
He allegedly broke into the home. Viruel Cruz also faces charges of burglary, criminal restraint and coercion.
The assault was first reported to police on Sept. 29, Schlachter said.
He was charged at that time, records show.
Viruel Cruz was a friend of the 11-year-old victim’s family, according to the report.
Detective Jamal Roy, who spent three months investigating the case, arrested Viruel Cruz during a motor vehicle stop Friay morning.
He is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing.
