Dog found in urine-soaked bag along railroad tracks in Vineland

  • News

Vineland police are looking for help identify the person who abandoned a dog in a urine-soaked bag.

A man was walking his dog along the railroad tracks at 537 Christel Ave., when he noticed a bag on the ground that was getting a reaction from his dog, the South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter posted on its Facebook page.

When he saw the bag move and heard something inside, he immediately brought it to the shelter.

Inside was a young female Chihuahua the shelter has dubbed Coco.

She was visibly shaken, and both she and the bags she was in were soaked in urine.

Coco was being evaluated by the vet.

Vineland police were called. Now, the shelter is hoping someone will recognize who had the dog or saw who left the bag she was in.
