A Philadelphia man was arrested in the armed robbery of an Egg Harbor Township gas station Tuesday night.
Police were called to the Sunoco on Fire Road in the township’s Farmington section at 5:35 p.m., Lt. Robert Gray said.
The gas attendant told police the suspect approached the booth, brandished a handgun and demanded money, according to the report.
The suspect then fled south on Fire Road.
The victim was not injured.
Officers located a suspect that matched the description given by the victim and witnesses to Fire Road in the area of the Fire Road Apartments, Gray said.
Lamar Morrison jumped the guardrail and ran into the apartment complex, according to the report.
Officers Anthony Venuto, Nathan Lahr, Thomas Rizzotte and Brian Seylor found him and took him into custody, Gray said.
Evidence from the robbery, including the handgun, was found discarded by Morrison as he fled, Gray said.
Morrison, 19, was charged with robbery, aggravated assault, receiving stolen property, possession of a handgun, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
He is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility awaiting a detention hearing.
