An Atlantic City woman accused of conspiring with a teen to try to murder a woman is set to go to trial in April on the third anniversary of the shooting.
Rashanah Camper, now 28, allegedly ordered a 16-year-old boy to shoot the victim as payback for being stabbed a few months earlier.
The teen previously pleaded guilty, according to information released in court.
The 25-year-old victim, whose name has not been made public, was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s City Campus for her injuries.
A warrant for Camper’s arrest was announced that June. She remained a fugitive for three months, often posting on Facebook that she was innocent and asking people to cash app her money for an attorney.
She was held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility until March 4 of last year, when she was released for health issues.
Camper is currently undergoing chemotherapy and has 13 sessions remaining, defense attorney Yvonne Maher told the judge Thursday.
In October 2020, Camper rejected a plea deal that would have given her a 14-year sentence.
She is now scheduled to go to trial April 25, exactly three years since the shooting.
