An Ocean County town's mayor was arrested for official misconduct this week.
Ocean Gate Mayor Paul Kennedy is accused of keeping proceeds from the sale of borough assets on the government auction website GovDeals.com.
He also allegedly sold borough office furniture on Facebook Marketplace, and attempted to also keep those funds.
The investigation also found he failed to deposit parking meter fund's into the Borough's bank account, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said.
Kennedy, 66, was arrested Friday, and processed at the Ocean County Sheriff's Office. He was released on a summons.
