EHC man arrested in Atlantic City after ACPO drug investigation

An Egg Harbor City man is jailed after an investigation led to a substantial amount of drugs in his vehicle, acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill said.

Laquay Gibbs, 40, was arrested Wednesday during a pedestrian stop by members of the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit.

The investigation had been going on since December, according to Shill.

After Gibbs' was arrested, his parked vehicle was searched at 805 Boardwalk.

Inside, detectives allegedly found about 16.8 grams of suspected heroin, about 500 wax folds of suspected heroin, several hundred empty shite wax bags, a digital scale, cut measuring straw with plastic spoon, a gallon Ziploc bag filled with tan rubber bands, four suspect MDMA pills and five white pills stamped M/20 (suspected fentanyl pressed to appear like 20 mg Oxycodone.

Gibbs is charged with distribution of heroin, possession of heroin, possession of Ecstasy and distribution within 500 feet of a public park.

He is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing.
